ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Macalester opened 2015 by hosting St. Olaf in a dual meet at the Riley Pool in which the Oles came away with a 204-74 victory.
Kaia Lund was the lone winner on the day for the Scots, picking up a victory in the 100-yard butterfly in a season-best time of one minutes, 2.23 seconds. She held a slim lead of .02 seconds at the turn but closed by covering the final 50 in 32.95, 1.54 seconds faster than St. Olaf runner-up Ellie Levy.
Molly Lloyd guaranteed herself a spot at the 2015 MIAC Championships in both the one- and three-meter dives, finishing second in both events. She posted a score of 163.25 in the one-meter dive and a score of 169.80 in the three-meter competition.
In addition to finishing third behind Lund in the 100 butterfly,
Alese Halvorson placed second in the 200 freestyle in 2:06.12.
The Scots also got second- and third-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke from
Kaila Chapman, who finished in a lifetime best of 1:14.57, and
Maggie Joyce, who clocked in at 1:16.72.

xcited to be back at Macalester and we look forward to several more meets this season as we continue to train and prepare for the 2015 MIAC Championship at the University of Minnesota next month."Next on the Macalester is the Meet of Saints and Scots, Jan. 17, at St. Thomas. Diving competition is slated to get underway at 9 a.m. with the swimming events scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
