QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH GREGG OLSON• "It oook us too long to get going today. For some reason we struggled, even during warmups. Something was off from the start. Sometimes you can play or fight your way into a game. However, when you are on the road against a very good side, they will punish you. St. John's didn't give us any way into the game during the first half. They are big, athletic and play in attacking areas on the field."
• "Even though we didn't have the energy and focus in the first half,
Danny Baumann scored off an incredible individual effort. He and
Dylan Wong still had a few moments in attack despite our lack of performance."
• "The second half was different. Our midfielders --
Alan Schembri-Wismayer,
Jake Burke and
Tristan Springer -- finally got involved. We began to get better pressure from our front three and we played in their half of the field for good stretches."
• "St. John's deserved three points. That is huge for them. We are young and need to learn from the performance. The slow start will not happen again. We will sort it out. Now we regroup as we finally return home (six of the last seven games were on the road) for another tough conference match up against Bethel on Saturday night."
