Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I chose to attend Macalester for its academic reputation, its soccer program and its location. First, Macalester is one of the top liberal arts colleges in the nation, and I knew I would be receiving a quality education. I've always been a student first, and I knew that Macalester would provide me skills that would help me in the future.  Next, soccer was also a huge factor in my decision for school. When I knew I would be playing Division III soccer, I had to find a school that would have both high academic standards as well as a competitive soccer team. With Macalester's recent success and strong soccer program, it made the choice easy. Lastly, the location of Macalester had quite an influence on my decision of what school I would attend. Living about twenty minutes away from campus, I was worried that the school would be too close to home and that it would be mostly Minnesotans. I was very wrong. I learned about Macalester's diversity by visiting, and just looking at the roster of the soccer team. Macalester was the perfect fit.
