Box Score 2 GRINNELL, Iowa -- The Macalester College volleyball team competed in their second day of action at the 2014 ACM Volleyball Tournament hosted by Grinnell College. The Scots won their first match of the day against Lake Forest, winning in four sets (27-25, 29-27, 16-25 and 25-21). The Scots fell in their second Sunday match-up against tournament host, Grinnell College in three sets (25-17, 25-19 and 25-9).
After going 1-3 in tournament play, Macalester College falls to 7-7 overall this season. They will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 17 as they begin Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play and travel to the College of Saint Benedict for a 7 p.m. match-up.
In the Scots' match against Lake Forest,
Clara Bauman (Wausau, Wis.) finished with a team-high and personal season-high 13 kills. Bauman hit .324 in the match and was followed by
Brooke Hunter (Stillwater, Minn.) who added in 12 kills and a .314 attack percentage.
Cora Trout (Columbia, MO) finished with 33 digs in the match, following up a 35-dig performance in the Scot's previous match against Knox College.
Arianna Hesterberg (Kenmore, Wash.) dished out a team-high 24 assists.
In the Scot's 0-3 loss to Grinnell College,
Clara Bauman led the way once again with nine kills.
Cora Trout added in three service aces and 14 digs for the Scots.
