Box Score DECORAH, Iowa -- Luther scored twice in the game's first 28 minutes and held on to defeat Macalester, 2-1, at Carlson Stadium.
The Norse used a 12-4 advantage in shots in the first half to their advantage, getting a goalie from Ellie Bunz, 15 minutes, five seconds into the contest, and another from Lauren Hughes at 27:33 to take a 2-0 lead.
The Scots got on the scoreboard at 41:03 when
Margaret Nemetz notched her first goal of the season to cut the lead in half but Luther kept the pressure on Macalester, outshooting its guest, 13-2, in the final 45 minutes.

Emma Toomer split time in goal with both making seven saves. Toomer did not allow a goal in the game's final 45 minutes.
The Scots return home to open the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference portion of their schedule Tuesday, hosting St. Thomas in a 7:30 p.m. match at Macalester Stadium.
