Macalester won four of its seven matches played Friday through Sunday (March 28-30) at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pa. Now 7-11 on the season, the Scots claimed wins over Monmouth (Ill.) 10-4, Penn State-Behrend 9-3, Grove City (Pa.) 11-10 and Utica (N.Y.) 12-6. Mac's three defeats came to the hands of Carthage (Wis.), Connecticut College, and Washington & Jefferson College (Pa.).
Macalester's first win was led by three-goal performances by
Chloe Kaulas (Sr., Chicago, Ill. / The Latin School) and
Sarah Shoemaker (Jr., Saratoga, Calif. / St. Francis).
Shoemaker also netted three goals in Macalester's 9-3 decision over PSB. Adding two scores apiece were Kaulas and
Rachel Harrington-Abrams (Sr., Berkeley, Calif.).
Adrienne Burgin (Jr., Walnut Creek, Calif. / Acalanes) scored three times, as did Kaulas to lead the way for the Scots past Grove City in a nail-biting 11-10 victory.
Leading the way for Macalester past Utica was Shoemaker with five goals and Harrington-Abrams with three.
