NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The Macalester College women's basketball team traveled to Northfield, Minn. and the campus of Carleton College to compete against the Knights in a 3 p.m. Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest. The Scots fell to Carleton, 59-45.
Macalester College drops to 2-6 overall in the 2014-15 season and 0-2 in the MIAC. Carleton improves to 1-5 overall and are now 1-2 in conference action.
In a competitive first-half battle, the Scots trailed by just five (27-32) after junior
Erin Murray drained a jumper with time expiring in the half.
Shooting just 26% in the second half, the Scots were unable to overcome the deficit. Macalester was led in scoring by freshman guard,
Vivi Gregorich. Gregorich finished with 11 points after hitting seven of nine shots from the line.
Freshman
Regan Fruh added nine points for the Scots, while
Annie Drabot and
Katelyn Kack each added eight. Drabot pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
Macalester will return to action on Jan. 3 as they travel to Hamline University for a 1 p.m. interleague contest.
