Biography

As a Scot

Serves as an orientation leader … Board member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee … Dean’s List recipient

Why did you choose to attend Macalester?

I choose Macalester because I wanted to experience college in an urban setting but remain driving distance away from home.  I wanted to have the opportunity to grow through academics and diverse perspectives.

What do you appreciate most about Macalester?

Macalester is a small campus where the faculty members will start a conversation with you when you pass by each other. The professors love to get to know each student and love to treat us with food and field trips!

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?

Macalester is a college that provides students with the opportunities to be challenged both academically and socially. The beauty of being a student-athlete, at Macalester, is that coaches, professors, classmates, and teammates, continuously surprise with me with enthusiasm for success. The support I have received and will continue to receive from the Macalester community has far extended beyond my expectations and given me the energy to aim for success everyday both on the court and in the classroom.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?

As a student-athlete, I have been able to maintain a healthy balance of school work, work, and physical activity that will allow me to remain balanced after graduation as well. We win some games and lose some games, but at the end of the day I have a strong sense of scot pride! I will take hard work, dedication, and heart with me on graduation day.
