ST. PAUL, Minn -- Macalester turned the ball over 28 times and shot just 26.1 percent from the floor as the Scots dropped a 77-38 decision at Hamline to open the 2015 calendar year.
The Pipers countered by shooting 50.8 percent from the field and got 28 points and 10 rebounds from conference scoring leader Jordan Sammons.
Macalester held a 36-31 edge in rebounding with
Park Masterson grabbing 10 rebounds to go along with 12 points,
Annie Drabot had seven rebounds.
The Scots return to action, Monday, when they host Concordia in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game beginning at 5:45 p.m.
