STORM LAKE, Iowa -- The Macalester College women's basketball team hit the hardwood for their second game of the Buena Vista University Thanksgiving Tournament Saturday afternoon. This time, the Scots matched up against tournament host, Buena Vista in a 3 p.m. tipoff. Macalester fell to the Buena Vista Beavers, 101-62.
The Scots fall to 2-4 overall in the 2014-15 season and will begin play in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference on Wednesday, Dec. 3 as they host St. Olaf at 5:45 p.m. in Alumni Gymnasium. Buena Vista improves to 4-3 overall on the year.
Macalester was led by sophomore
Lauren Clamage who finished with a career-high 25 points. Clamage shot eight of 13 on the night and knocked down an impressive four of five shots from beyond the arc. Clamage was named to the All-Tournament Team following today's game.
Annie Drabot also finished in double-digit scoring for the Scots. Drabot added 15 points after hitting nine of 10 shots from the charity stripe. She pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.
Erin Murray led Macalester with four assists.
The Scots were unable to put a stop to the sharp-shooting Beavers, who connected on 11 shots from three-point range. Buena Vista was led by center Shelby Wiederhoeft with 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
