MANKATO, Minn. -- Macalester took a 12-point lead in the game's first seven minutes and never looked back, cruising to a 65-42 win at Bethany Lutheran.

Five different players scored for the Scots as they took an 18-6 lead with 12 minutes, 55 seconds to play in the opening half on Vivi Gregorich's three-point basket. From that point, the lead hovered between eight and 12 points before Erin Murray hit a three-point basket with 4:58 to play in the half.

Macalester shot 46.7 percent from the floor and 55.6 percent from three-point range in the first half as Gregorich, Murray and Annie Drabot each scored seven points in the opening 20 minutes, taking a 40-26 lead into halftime.

The pace of the game slowed and Macalester saw its shooting fall to 34.5 percent for the second half, including an 0-for-7 performance from three-point range. Park Masterson scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds in the second half as she led the Scots with 14 points and seven rebounds in the game.

Eleven of Macalester's 12 players got into the scoring column on the night, with Lauren Clamage adding 10 points and Murray with nine.

Defensively, the Scots limited the Vikings to 36 percent shooting, which included a 2-for-13 effort in three-point shooting by the hosts. Macalester also forced 24 turnovers.

Next up for the Scots is another non-conference game, Saturday, when they host Wisconsin-Superior in a 2 p.m. matinee at the Leonard Center.
