Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Hayley Stutzman scored her first career goal in the game's 24th minute and Macalester made the goal stand up for a 1-0 win over St. Scholastica.
Stutzman, who has come off the bench in all nine games in which she has seen action this season, played a season-high 57 minutes and got her first goal when the ball went wide to the right side to
Hannah Walker. She got the ball into
Bonnie Gale whose crossing pass was deflected but Stutzman was able to get her right foot into a shot that beat Saints goalkeeper Kelsey Reed inside the left post.
Meanwhile, the Scots had plenty of chances to add to the lead, racking up 11 shots in the second half, five of which were on goal.
Hannah Pollard-Garber, who came off the bench, had five shots while Walker and Gale each had three.
Toomer needed to make just two saves to record her second shutout of the season and raise her record to 5-4-1.
Macalester returns to action, Saturday, for a 1 p.m. contest as the Scots return to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a home match versus St. Olaf.
