ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Macalester College volleyball team traveled to the University of Northwestern today for a three-team triangular alongside Bethany Lutheran and Northwestern. The Scots first matched up against Bethany Lutheran, defeating the Vikings 3-1 (25-14, 25-15, 16-25 and 25-20). Macalester took on Northwestern in their second contest of the day and fell in three sets.

Brooke Hunter displayed impactful play in the Scot's match-up vs. Bethany Lutheran. Hunter finished with a team-high 9 kills and also added 12 digs and three service aces.
Freshman
Clara Baumann added eight kills and 17 digs, while
Caitlyn O'Neil finished with seven and a .389 hitting percentage.
Junior libero
Cora Trout posted a team-high 29 digs.
Setters
Samantha Bongiorno and
Arianna Hesterberg finished with 22 and 13 assists respectively.
The Scots finished with nine total team blocks to Bethany Lutheran's four.
Macalester vs. Northwestern Recap:The Scots matched up against Northwestern in their second contest today. The Eagles entered the match 11-6 overall and 7-0 in the UMAC. Macalester dropped three straight sets to the Eagles, falling 25-13, 25-16 and 25-14.

Cora Trout had a team-high 17 digs. Macalester couldn't overcome their offensive slump as they hit just .075 in the match as a team.
The Scots will return to action on Oct. 8 as they host Hamline University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) match-up.
Macalester moves to 8-12 this season and are 0-4 in MIAC play.
