Northfield, Minn. -- The Macalester College volleyball team traveled to Northfield, Minn today to take on Carleton College and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in a three-team triangular. The Scots started off the day with a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match-up against Carleton. The Scots fell to the Knights in three sets with scores of 25-11, 25-16 and 25-14. In Macalester's second match of the day, the Scots took on UW-La Crosse and were defeated 3-0 (25-20, 25-18 and 25-16).
Unable to snap their six match losing streak, Macalester drops to 8-17 overall this season and 0-8 in the MIAC. Carleton improved to 14-6 overall and 4-4 in the MIAC.
Against Carleton, the Scots were led offensively by freshman outside hitter,
Clara Baumann. Baumann finished with 11 kills and hit .222 in the three-set match.
Arianna Hesterberg collected 13 assists.
Samantha Bongiorno added six.

Cora Trout finished with 12 digs for Mac.
The Scots couldn't find consistency on offense, hitting just .063 in the match to Carleton's .330.
Lucy Stevens led Carleton with 15 kills and a .571 hitting percentage.
Macalester was unable to turn things around against UW-La Crosse, falling in three but putting up a battle with 16 tied scores and four lead changes throughout the three-set loss.
Baumann again led the way statistically, tacking on nine kills and 11 digs for the Scots.
Brooke Hunter and
India Medaris each recorded five kills.
Cora Trout had a team-high 16 digs.
Macalester volleyball will return to action next Saturday, Oct. 25 as they compete at St. Catherine University in MIAC play.
