Macalester and host-Augsburg met Wednesday night in  Minneapolis, and it was the Auggies coming away with a 1-0 MIAC victory after scoring the game's only goal in the 60th minute.  Macalester drops to 1-2 in the MIAC and 3-3-1 overall, while Augsburg advances to 3-0 in conference play and 7-0-4 overall.

Augsburg out-shot its guests 15-14, including 8-6 in tries on net, to stay unbeaten in MIAC play.  Leading the Scots in scoring attempts was Georgia Cloepfil (Sr., Portland, Ore. / Lincoln) with five shots and Margaret Nemetz (So., Ann Arbor, Mich. / Pioneer) with three.

Macalester goalkeeper Ellen Palmquist (Sr., Fort Collins, Colo. / Poudre) stopped seven Auggie shots on net.

The Auggies avenge a 5-0 defeat to the Scots a year ago.

Macalester is off until next Tuesday (Oct. 2) when they travel to St. Joseph to take on St. Benedict.
