Box Score
Macalester found itself losing to visiting Hamline Saturday afternoon 2-0 at halftime and it looked for a while that the Scots could suffer their first-ever defeat to the Pipers after coming in with a 22-0 all-time mark against HU.
The Scots, however, never conceded and came up with a huge second half rally, receiving a pair of goals from
Georgia Cloepfil (Sr., Portland, Ore. / Lincoln), her fifth and sixth markers of the year, and one from
Maggie Molter (Sr., Cedarburg, Wis.), her third of the season, and also assisted on Cloepfil's first tally.
Hamline scored in the 12th minute to strike quickly and went up 2-0 in the 26th minute on a rebound off a goalkeeper save.
Cloepfil finished off a nice give-and-go with Molter at 52:22 as the Scots were back in the contest early in the second half. A little less than two minutes later, Molter converted a Cloepfil pass and the score was deadlocked 2-2 at 54:12. Cloepfil's 26th career goal at Mac came at 81:15 to conclude the comeback.
Macalester improves to 1-1 in the MIAC and 3-2-1 overall, and returns to MIAC action Wednesday night (Sept. 25) at Augsburg.
