Water Polo: Scots split six matches

Complete tourney results

Macalester went 3-3 last weekend (April 5-7) at the College Water Polo Association (CWPA) Tournament at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  The Scots, who also split their six games one week ago at a CWPA tourney in Pennsylvania, went 1-1 each day.

On Friday, Macalester beat host-Carthage 6-3 and lost to Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) 12-6.  On the middle day of the tourney, the Scots rolled past Penn State-Behrend 11-2 before droping a 9-1 decision to Grove City (Pa.).  Mac wrapped up the weekend Sunday by falling to Connecticut College 14-5 and defeating Utica (N.Y.) 8-3.

The Scots wrap up their season this coming Friday and Saturday (April 12-13) at the Division III CWPA Championships in New London, Connecticut. Macalester is seeded No. 4 plays and a 10 a.m. match Friday with No. 5 Carthage to start the weekend off.  Other participating teams are No. 1 Grove City, No. 2 Connecticut College, No. 3 Washington & Jefferson, No. 6 Utica and No. 7 Penn State-Behrend.

If the Scots defeat Carthage, they'll play Friday at 4:30 p.m. against Grove City.  If they fall, they will take on the loser of the Penn State-Behrend vs. Connecticut College contest at 3 p.m.
