Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Macalester pitchers struck out 22 batters in 12 innings of work and swept Minnesota-Morris 12-4 and 7-1 at the Vadnais Dome in Vadnais Heights.  The Scots batted .473 on the day (26-for-55) and received a pair of home runs in the first game from Brittany Ehmann (So., Island Lake, Ill. / Wauconda), who was the winning pitcher in game two.

The Scots plated four runs in the first inning, three in the second and five more in the third to go on top 12-3 in the opener.  Cleo Nagy (Jr., Eugene, Ore. / Henry D. Sheldon) and Miranda Stokes (So., Perry, Utah / Box Elder) each went 3-for-3 in the five-inning affair, while four other Scots each contributed two hits.  Ehmann belted  shots to deep right and the second inning and to left in the third – a three-run shot -  for her first two career home runs at Mac.

Meanwhile, starting pitcher Alisha Barritt (Jr., Oklahoma City, Okla. / Bethany) fanned six batters against just one walk in four innings of duty to pick up Macalester's first pitching win of the season.

Ehmann, one of the hitting stars in game one, pitched the first four innings of the nightcap, striking out six and allowing just a single unearned run.  Stokes was dominant in relief, fanning eight UMM batters in three innings to pick up the save.

Leading 2-0, the Scots put the game away with four runs in the top of the fourth in game two.  Ehmann went 3-for-4 to lead the attack.

The Scots, now 2-2 on the year, play again next Tuesday (March 12) at the Rosemount Dome against Martin Luther at 10 a.m.
