Macalester played a pair of non-conference games with Wisconsin-Stout at the West St. Paul Dome and were swept by the Blue Devils.  The Scots are 8-10 heading into the MIAC campaign, while UW-Stout advances to 12-4.

Stout took a 4-1 first-inning lead in Friday's first game and went on to win 9-1 while holding Macalester to three hits.  The Scots hit the ball much better in the nightcap, producing 11 hits and two homers, but came up short 13-7.

The Scots battled back from a 5-0 first-inning deficit in game two to go on top 7-6 with three runs in the second and fourth frames and a single run in the third.  Miranda Stokes (So., Perry, Utah / Box Elder) went 4-for-4 from the plate with a home run and two runs scored to lead the Macalester attack.  Anna Munson (So., La Crosse, Wis. / Central), also homered (her first career shot at Mac) and was 3-for-3 with three RBI.  Saraswati Wilson (So., Olathe, Kan. / Olathe Northwest) was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

Mac is scheduled to open MIAC play Tuesday (April 2) at St. Benedict.
