Macalester came away victorious in four out of five games over the weekend at the CWPA Invitational in Wheaton, Illinois.
Catherine Flint (Sr., Palo Alto, Calif. / Henry Gunn) netted 26 goals to lead the attack during Mac's 4-1 tourney run, and teammate
Adrienne Burgin (Fy., Walnut Creek, Calif. / Acalanes) netted 17 goals.
The Scots beat Penn State-Behrend 15-2, Connecticut College 14-11, Utica (N.Y.) 14-8 and Carthage (Wis.) 12-9, with their lone defeat coming to Wheaton 11-7.
Other leading goal-producers for Macalester were
Sarah Shoemaker (Fy., Saratoga, Calif. / St. Francis) with seven and
Chloe Kaulas (So., Chicago, Ill. / The Latin School) with five.
Shoemaker led the team with 12 assists. Burgin assisted on 11 scores and Flint added nine assists.
Goalkeeping duties were split between
Anya Phillips (Fy., Geneva, Fla. / Oviedo), who recorded 30 saves, and Kaulas, who made 23 stops.
Leading the defensive cause was Shoemaker with 19 stolen balls. Burgin picked up 15 stolen balls and Flint had 11.
The Scots (7-11 on the season) head to Grove City, Pa., for the season-ending CWPA conference tournament April 20-21.
