Macalester picked up its first win of the campaign, beating Caltech 12-9 in Pasadena, Calif.

The Scots jumped out on top 6-2 midway through the second quarter, led 10-4 early in the second half, and held off the Techsters.

Adrienne Burgin (Fy., Walnut Creek, Calif. / Acalanes) and Catherine Flint (Sr., Palo Alto, Calif. / Henry Gunn) each pumped in four goals to lead the Scots.  Burgin added four assists and four stolen balls, while Flint also contributed four steals and three ejections drawn.

Rachel Harrington-Abrams (So., Berkeley, Calif. ) netted two Macalester goals and assisted on three others, while Sarah Shoemaker (Fy., Saratoga, Calif. / St. Francis) and Suzanne Oh (Jr., Waukesha, Wis. / North) each tallied one goal.  Shoemaker led the team with five steals.

Goalkeeper Anya Phillips (Jr., Geneva, Fla. / Oviedo) finished with nine saves and a stolen ball.

The Scots play Tuesday (March 13) at Chapman to finish off their Southern California trip.
