Macalester played a pair of games in Whittier, Calif., on Day 3 of its Spring Break trip and came away with defeats to La Verne (17-6) and  Whittier (15-4) and The Scots are now 0-6 against very strong competition on their trip.

Sarah Shoemaker (Fy., Saratoga, Calif. / St. Francis) accounted for half of Macalester's six goals in the contest with La Verne.  She also assisted on a Mac goal and had two steals.  Adrienne Burgin (Fy., Walnut Creek, Calif. / Acalanes) contributed a goal, three assists, three stolen balls and two ejections earned.  Catherine Flint (Sr., Palo Alto, Calif. / Henry Gunn) and Anya Phillips (Fy., Geneva, Fla. / Oviedo) also netted a solo goal for the Scots.  Goalkeepers Phillips and Chloe Kaulas (So., Chicago, Ill. / Latin School) combined for nine saves.

Shoemaker netted two goals against Whittier and scoring one time each were Kaulas and Burgin.  Burgin and Flint had three steals apiece and Flint drew three ejections.  Phillips made six saves in net and Kaulas added four.

The Scots play Caltech tomorrow night in Pasadena.
