Macalester beats St. Mary’s 112-83

Complete Macalester vs. St. Mary's results

Macalester boosted its dual meet record to 2-0 by defeating St. Mary's 112-83 at Riley Pool in the season's first home meet.  The Scots produced first-place finishes in all 13 events.

Double event winners were Kendall Van Sistine (Fy., Oshkosh, Wis. / Lourdes) and Renee Jordan (Jr., Anchorage, Alaska / Steller Secondary School).  VanSistine won the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.45) and 100 backstroke (1:07.81), while Jordan's first-place efforts came in the 50 freestyle (25.98) and in 3-meter diving (198.90).

The Scots also received winning performances from:  Becca Galey (Jr., Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. / Mercersburg Academy (Pa.)) in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:59.75), Hannah Currens (Fy., Frederick, Md. / Gov. Thomas Johnson) in the 500 free (6:02.17), Suzanne Oh (Sr., Waukesha, Wis.) in the 100 free (57.27),  Christina Bloom (Fy., Henderson, Nev. / Coronado) in the 200 free (2:12.59), Maggie McKenna (Fy., Palo Alto, Calif. / Henry Gunn) in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.58), Alese Halvorson (So., Maple Grove, Minn. / Wayzata) in the 200 individual medley and Hunter Hedenberg (Fy., Newton, Mass. / North)) in 1-meter diving (223.10).

Macalester won the 400 medley relay (4:20.40) and 200 free relay (1:52.67).

The Scots host the Roger Ahlman Invitational tomorrow at Riley Pool, with diving competition set to begin at 9 a.m. and swimming events slated to start at 1 p.m. Live webcast
