Macalester splits MIAC double dual

Complete Macalester vs. St. Olaf and Hamline results

Macalester came away with a split in its MIAC double dual meet in Northfield, beating Hamline 115-16 and falling to host-St. Olaf 93-30.  This was the team's first competition since returning from its training trip in Florida.

Renee Jordan (So., Anchorage, Alaska / Steller Secondary School) won  both 1-meter diving events, going a 179.35 for her voluntary list and 280.40 in the six-dive optional event.  Her combined score of 459.75 broke her own Mac 11-dive record as well as the Skoglund Center Natatorium pool record, and is an NCAA qualifying mark.  Her six-dive score of 280.40 also broke the St. Olaf pool record and is a new Macalester record.

The Scots came up with three runner-up performances in the swimming events.  Mac's second-place efforts were turned in by Becca Galey (So., Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. / Mercersburg Academy (Pa.)) in the 1000-yard freestyle (12:08.05), Clare Pillsbury (Sr., Baraboo, Wis.) in the 500 free (5:27.93) and Karoline Hart (Sr., Rexford, N.Y. / Niskayuna) in the 200 freestyle (2:04.57).

Macalester returns to the pool for a home dual meet Monday, Jan. 16 against Wisconsin-River Falls at 12 noon.
