Georgia Cloepfil (So., Portland, Ore. / Lincoln) netted the game's only goal on a breakaway pass through the middle from Izzi Speer (So., Madison, Wis. / West) with just 3:54 left in regulation as Macalester handed upstart Hamline its first defeat of the year.

The Scots improve to 5-2-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the MIAC with their sixth shutout in eight games, while the Pipers drop to 6-1-1 overall, 1-1-1 in conference play.

Goalkeeper Rosie Glenn-Finer (Jr., San Francisco, Calif. / Lick Wilmerding) was asked to make just one save while lowering her goals against average to 0.35. Once again she was supported by outstanding play by Macalester starting defenders Kat Lenhart (Jr., Fairview, N.C. / A.C. Reynolds), Bonnie Bentson (So., Minneapolis, Minn. / Southwest), Hannah Boston (Jr., Mill Valley, Calif. / Tamalpais) and Erica DeJong (Jr., Woodinville, Wash. / Eastside Catholic).
