Macalester vs. Loras statistics
After starting the season with three straight 1-0 wins, Macalester traveled to Dubuque, Iowa, to take on powerhouse Loras just 24 hours after playing in St. Paul, and were defeated by the DuHawks 2-0. Loras went 21-1-1 last year and made it to the third round of the NCAA playoffs, and is ranked No. 9 in the D3soccer.com pre-season poll.
Loras scored off a free kick from 25 yards away less than three minutes before the halftime break and spend most of the second half successfully defending Macalester opportunities before going up 2-0 with a score in the 82nd minute.

Rosie Glenn-Finer (Jr., San Francisco, Calif. / Lick Wilmerding), who had her shutout streak to start the season snapped at 319 minutes, turned away four shots on net. Five different Scots were stopped by Loras goalkeeper saves.
Loras is now 3-2 and Macalester is 3-1.
The MIAC season gets underway for the Scots Wednesday (Sept. 14) at St. Benedict. The Scots and Blazers fought to a scoreless draw a year ago.
