After dropping the opening game 19-1, the Scots weren't about to go down without a fight in the season's final game, but St. Benedict rallied from two runs behind in the sixth inning to beat Macalester 5-3 in the nightcap to gain an MIAC sweep in St. Benedict.
In game two, Macalester led 2-1 after an inning and 3-1 after five frames.
Allie Dautrich (Fy., Mansfield Center, Conn. / E.O. Smith) doubled and
Cleo Nagy (Fy., Eugene, Ore. / Henry D. Sheldon) hit her team-leading fourth home run in the top of the first. The Scots tallied a single run in the fourth.
Katie Fuller (Fy., Boulder, Colo.) and Nagy drew walks to start the inning and Fuller eventually scored on a passed ball.
Starting pitcher
Amanda Knopf (Jr., Boulder, Colo.) was outstanding through the first five innings, giving up only three hits and an unearned run while retiring nine straight batters going into the bottom of the sixth. In the sixth, however, the Blazers had a three-run homer with two outs to plate the winning unearned runs off Knopf.
