Macalester vs. Hamline box scores: Game 1 | Game 2

Macalester played its final home games on a cold Sunday afternoon and were toppled by Hamline 14-6 and 9-0 as Pipers stay in the race for a spot in the MIAC post-season.

Hamline took control of game one by putting seven runs on the board in the first inning with the help of a grand slam. The Scots still had some fight in them, scoring single runs in the third and fourth innings and posting four runs in the fifth.

Hayley Reeves (Sr., Oberlin, Ohio) was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored on Senior Day. Also driving in runs for the Scots were Lily Alexander (Fy., Takoma Park, Md. / Montgomery Blair), Courtney Nussbaumer (So., Brookfield, Wis. / East) and Allie Dautrich (Fy., Mansfield Center, Conn. / E.O. Smith).

Hamline plated three runs in each of the second, third and fourth innings to take the nightcap with a shutout. Alexander accounted for two of Mac's three hits.

The young Scots close out the 2011 campaign Tuesday (May 3) at St. Benedict.
