Macalester vs. St. Mary's box scores: Game 1 | Game 2

The Scots challenged one of the MIAC's top squads and were toppled 8-1 and 9-1 by St. Mary's in Winona.

St. Mary's improves to 12-8 overall and 6-3 in the MIAC. Macalester drops to 7-11 on the year, 0-4 in conference play.

Macalester scored its run in the opening game on a second-inning Meghan Merriman (Fy., Warroad, Minn.) homer, her first collegiate round-tripper. In the nightcap, Katie Fuller (Fy., Boulder, Colo.) went 2-for-2 and drove in teammate Amanda Knopf (Jr., Boulder, Colo.) in the fourth inning.

Macalester plays its home-opener Saturday (April 9) against St. Olaf at 1 p.m.
