Macalester vs. Augsburg box scores: Game 1 | Game 2

Visiting Augsburg scored the tying and go-ahead runs in the top of the fifth inning in the nightcap to complete a 5-0 and 5-4 sweep over the Scots.

Macalester scored all of its runs on the day when it tallied four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning in the second game as the Scots went up 4-3. The Scots had six hits in the frame, including a two-run Rebecca McCrory (Fy., Seattle, Wash. / University Prep) single, a Katie Fuller (Fy., Boulder, Colo.) RBI single, and a Cleo Nagy (Fy., Eugene, Ore. / Henry D. Sheldon) RBI single.

Pitcher Amanda Knopf (Jr., Boulder, Colo.) fell behind 3-0 after two innings in the circle, but was in solid control the rest of the way.

Nagy and Meghan Merriman (Fy., Warroad, Minn.) each went two-for-four on the game and Nagy had three hits for the day to boost her team-leading batting average to .359/

The Auggies jump to 17-13 on the season and 6-6 in the MIAC, while the Scots drop to 7-19 overall, 0-10 in the MIAC.

The Scots play another MIAC doubleheader Tuesday (April 19) at St. Benedict.
