Macalester vs. Bethel box scores: Game 1 | Game 2

Bethel maintained its spot near the top of the conference standings by taking a pair of games from the Scots in Arden Hills, topping Macalester 11-2 and 5-3.

The Royals took control of game one, plating four runs in each of the first two innings. The nightcap was a much closer game, with Macalester receiving a solid pitching effort from Amanda Knopf (Jr., Boulder, Colo.). The Scots scored one run in the top of the fifth and two more in the sixth to pull to within two, but left the bases loaded in the sixth.

Rebecca McCrory (Fy., Seattle, Wash. / University Prep) and Cleo Nagy (Fy., Eugene, Ore. / Henry D. Sheldon) collected a pair hits and drove in a run each in the second game, and Allie Dautrich (Fy., Mansfield Center, Conn. / E.O. Smith) drove in a run on a single.

Nagy belted a home run and brought in a run on a bases-loaded walk to drive in both Macalester runs in game one.

Bethel improves to 16-9 on the season and 7-1 in the MIAC. Mac drops to 7-17 overall, 0-8 in the league.

Macalester is back in action Friday (April 15) when it plays host to Augsburg at 5 p.m. The Scots host Concordia-Moorhead Saturday (April 16) at 1 p.m.
