Macalester traveled to a warm climate for 14 games over Spring Break at the National Training Center Games in Clermont, Florida, and returned to St. Paul with a 7-7 record. The team's seven wins is just one short of last year's victory total for the young Scots.

The Scots started out 6-1 and battled back from a six-game skid to win their finale over Carroll (Wis.) Macalester also defeated Oswego State (N.Y.), St. Joseph (Conn.), New England College (Me.), Minnesota-Morris, Franciscan (Ohio) and Knox (Ill.).

Three players batted between .351 and .349 to lead the Macalester attack. Courtney Nussbaumer (So., Brookfield, Wis. / East) hit .351 with a team-high 11 RBI, Meghan Merriman (Fy., Warroad, Minn.) hit .350 with nine RBI, and Cleo Nagy (Fy., Eugene, Ore. / Henry D. Sheldon) batted .349 while leading the team in runs scored (10) and doubles (7).

Allie Dautrich (Fy., Mansfield Center, Conn. / E.O. Smith) batted .321. Pitcher Amanda Knopf (Jr., Boulder, Colo.) posted a 5-4 record and 3.29 ERA.
