Complete Macalester vs. St. Olaf results
The Scots hosted traditional MIAC stronghold St. Olaf at Riley Pool and were defeated by the Oles 189 ½ to 82 ½.
Renee Jordan (Fy., Anchorage, Ak. / Steller Secondary School) led the way for Macalester by diving to first-place scores on the 1-meter board (227.50) and 3-meter board (224.40).
Away from competition during Fall Semester while on a study-abroad program,
Grace Fleming (Northampton, Mass.) returned to the pool by swimming to a runner-up finish in the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.30) while adding third-place finishes in two events: the 100 free (58.99) and 500 free (5:44.33).
Also swimming to third-place finishes were
Kate Vermann (Sr., Bronx, N.Y. / Fieldston School) in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:19.06),
Claire Eder (Sr., Evanston, Ill. / Evanston Township) in the 200 backstroke (2:22.58) and
Suzanne Oh in the 50 free (26.51).
The Scots compete next Saturday (Jan. 15) at St. John's University in Collegeville in a triangular meet with St. Benedict and Carleton.
