Macalester vs. Minnesota-Morris statistics
The Scots traveled to the prairie of the western part of the state and needed a late goal to escape with a 1-1 tie against Minnesota-Morris. Macalester earned a 21-7 lead in shots, an 11-2 margin in shots on goal, and finished with a commanding 14-1 advantage in corner kicks taken.
Even with the statistics in favor of Macalester, the Scots were close to their first defeat of the season until
Taylor Rasmussen (So., Eagan, Minn. / Eastview) scored an unassisted goal in the 87th minute to force OT. Rasmussen accounted for four of his team's shots on net.
UM-Morris scored the game's first goal in the 29th minute off a Matt Johnson assist.
Macalester is now 4-0-1 and UMM is 1-2-2.
The Scots begin their MIAC campaign Wednesday (Sept. 15) when the host Concordia-Moorhead at 5 p.m.
