After taking game one in the season-opening twinbill with Minnesota-Morris at the nearby Concordia-St. Paul Dome, the Scots rallied from a 9-5 deficit only to drop the nightcap 9-8 with the tying and go-ahead runs on second and third bases before the UMM centerfielder stretched out to rob Macalester of a possible sweep.

Ali Nystrom (Sr., Minnetonka, Minn.) collected four hits and four RBI on the day for the Scots.

Four others had three hits on the doubleheader: Carly Klingensmith (Sr., New York, N.Y. / Nightingale-Bamford School), Amanda Cagan (Sr., Saratoga, Calif. / Monta Vista), Crystal Barriga (Sr., Broomfield, Colo. / Legacy) and Alison Phillips (Sr., Vernon Hills, Ill. / Adlai E. Stevenson). Phillips helped the Scots win the first game with a home run to center.

In game one, Macalester plated seven runs on eight hits in the second inning and added three more runs in the third to go up 10-2.

Mac led 5-3 in the second game before Minnesota-Morris tallied four runs in the fourth frame and two more in the fifth to go up 9-6.

The Scots head to Ft. Myers, Florida, over Spring Break (March 14-20) to play 10 games at the Gene Cusac Classic.
