Macalester vs. Augsburg statistics
Macalester rallied from a 0-2 deficit, taking the third set 25-22, but came up short in a close fourth set (21-25) to fall to Augsburg 3-1 in Minneapolis. There were seven lead changes and 13 ties in the third and fourth sets combined.
The Scots received six blocks from
Taylor Tinkham (Jr., St. Louis Park, Minn.). Leading the way in the back row were
Laura Avena (Fy., Cesis, Latvia / Riga Gimnasium #1) with 17 digs and
Glasha Marcon (So., Richmond, Calif. / Albany) with 14.
Avena served four aces and Marcon added three aces.
Majra Mucic (Sr., Zenica, Bosnia / St. Louis Park – Minn.) led the attack with 10 kills and
Danielle Dweck (Jr., Sea Cliff, N.Y. / North Shore) distributed 23 assists.
The Auggies were led by Colleen Ourada with 14 kills.
Augsburg improves to 13-10 on the year, 3-2 in MIAC play. Macalester drops to 10-12 overall and 1-4 in the league.
Macalester plays host tomorrow to No. 14-ranked St. Thomas at 3 p.m.
