Macalester vs. Gustavus Adolphus statistics
Macalester's 14-game home field winning streak came to a finish Wednesday night when Gustavus Adolphus scored late in the first half and held on for a 1-0 MIAC triumph over the Scots. Winners of three straight coming in, the Scots drop to 10-3-1 on the season and 4-2 in conference play, while the Gusties are now 7-3-3 overall, 2-1-3 in the MIAC.
Gustavus has now won five straight in the rivalry and eight of nine against Macalester. The Gusties used a deep lineup to out-shoot the hosts 15-7 overall and 8-2 in shots on goal. Mac goalkeeper
Mark Mullaney (Sr., Plymouth, Minn.) turned away five shots on net, but Gustavus got the only goal it needed at 38:45 on a nice shot by Mark Adams into the upper left corner from the right side from about 20-yards out.
Macalester was kept off the scoreboard for just the second time this season. Gustavus keeper Luke Strom made two saves, both against
Taylor Rasmussen (So., Eagan, Minn. / Eastview), who has accounted for his team's last five goals.
After playing four straight matches at home, the Scots head to the road for their next three contests, starting with an MIAC game Saturday (Oct. 16) at St. Olaf.
