Macalester hosted a pair of club teams at Riley Pool Saturday and came away with 8-1 and 14-7 wins over Carleton and the University of Minnesota, respectively.
Against Carleton in the first match, the Scots, goalkeeper
Sofia Shaw (Sr., Tacoma, Wash. / Stadium) turned away 16 of 17 shots on goal and
Sarah Ellerton (Jr., Suffield, Conn. / Suffield Academy) assisted on four of her team's eight goals and also scored twice.
Bailey Gucinski (Fy., Chicago, Ill. / Waubonsie Valley) netted four goals and the Scots received on goal each from
Claire Eder (So., Evanston, Ill. / Evanston Township) and
Aubrey Harding (Jr., Salem, Ore. / South Salem).
Gucinski added five goals to lead the way against Minnesota, giving her nine on the day.
Ari Litman (Fy., Claremont, Calif. / Vivian Webb School) scored three goals and Harding scored twice.
Macalester hosts the Midwest Region Championships next weekend (April 17-18). The Scots will play Friday games with Colorado College, Wheaton (Ill.) and Carthage (Wis.) Friday and then play two more games Saturday.
