Augsburg made the short trip from Minneapolis and returned with a pair of 10-2 wins over the Scots at the Macalester Softball Field.
In the opener, Macalester took the early lead with a couple first-inning runs.
Amanda Cagan (Jr., Saratoga, Calif. / Monta Vista) began a two-out rally with a double and scored on a
Crystal Barriga (Jr., Broomfield, Colo. / Legacy) single.
Chloe Souza (Fy., Los Angeles, Calif. / Windward) singled and Barriga later scored on a passed ball.
The Auggies, however, responded with a pair of runs in the fourth to tie things up and went up for good with four fifth-inning runs.
Augsburg jumped out quickly with five runs in the top of the first inning of game two and went on for another 10-2 victory. Macalester scored its two runs in the third on a two-run single by Barriga.
Ali Nystrom (Jr., Minnetonka, Minn.) went 2-for-3 for her eighth multi-hit game of the season and scored a run.
Augsburg earns its second straight MIAC sweep and moves up to 6-22 overall, 4-6 in the MIAC. Macalester is 5-19 overall and 0-10 in the conference.
The Scots return to action Monday (April 13) when they host Carleton at 4 p.m.
