Catherine Anderson (Fy., Palo Alto, Calif. / Henry Gunn) netted the game-winning goal with 2:17 remaining in the first overtime session as Macalester toppled La Verne in a defensive-minded 3-2 match in the team's ninth and final Spring Break match in California.

Macalester went 3-6 during its week in California.

Goalkeeper Sofia Shaw (Sr., Tacoma, Wash. / Stadium) made 22 saves to lead the way for Macalester and didn't allow a goal in the fourth quarter or in overtime.

Sarah Ellerton (Jr., Suffield, Conn. / Suffield Academy) had a goal and five steals for the Scots, while Baily Gucinski had a goal and five stolen balls.

The Scots play next Saturday (March 28) in Wheaton, Illinois, against Cal State East Bay, Carthage and Wheaton.
