Macalester cruised to a 6-0 first quarter advantage and went on to topple Caltech 13-1 in Pasadena as the Scots gain their second win of their California Spring Break trip. Six different players scored for Macalester, and netting their first collegiate goals were
Ramona McCabe (Fy., Santa Cruz, Calif. / San Lorenzo Valley) and
Grace Fleming (Fy., Northampton, Mass.).
Bailey Gucinski (Fy., Chicago, Ill. / Waubonsie Valley) and
Catherine Anderson (Fy., Palo Alto, Calif. / Henry Gunn ) led the attack with three goals apiece, and beating the Caltech goalkeeper twice each were
Aubrey Harding (Jr., Salem, Ore. / South Salem) and
Meghan Davies (Fy., Ann Arbor, Mich. / Pioneer).
Sofia Shaw (Sr., Tacoma, Wash. / Stadium), who played the first quarter in goal, scored one goal, as did McCabe and Fleming.
Davies added 11 stolen balls and three assists. Anderson contributed two assists and three steals.
Hillary Frey (Fy., Portland, Ore. / St. Mary's) and
Claire Eder (So., Evanston, Ill. / Evanston Township) backed up Shaw in goal for the final three periods and each made four saves.
The Scots play at the University of Redlands tomorrow.
