California Lutheran, the No. 4 NCAA Division III team in the nation, jumped out to a 5-2 first quarter lead and went on to topple Macalester 10-6 at the Claremont Convergence in Claremont, California.

Bailey Gucinski (Fy., Chicago, Ill. / Waubonsie Valley) netted half of Macalester's six scores and goalkeeper Sofia Shaw (Sr., Tacoma, Wash. / Stadium) came up with 17 saves and three stolen balls. Sarah Ellerton (Jr. Suffield, Conn. / Suffield Academy) contributed three steals, two assists and a goal.

The Scots enjoyed a strong third quarter, out-scoring the Regals 4-0 to tie the contest at 6-6 heading into the final period. Gucinski scored two goals in the period, while Ellerton and Catherine Anderson (Fy., Palo Alto, Calif. / Henry Gunn).
