Ted Mullen “Leave it in the Pool” Hour of Power Relay on Tuesday, Novmember 10 at 5 p.m. Thousands of college and high school swimmers will jump in the pool at the same time for an hour in the name of cancer research. The event is in honor of former Carleton College student and athlete Edward H. “Ted” Mullin, who passed away from sarcoma, a rare soft-tissue cancer, in September 2006 at the age of 22.
Joining the Scots in this event at the Riley Pool will be metro area MIAC teams St. Thomas, Hamline, St. Catherine and Augsburg. The event is a one-hour, all-out, leave-it-in-the-pool practice that will occur simultaneously at numerous pools across the country and involve teams from NCAA Division I, II and III.
Macalester's next competitive event is an MIAC dual next Saturday (Nov. 14) at St. Mary's.
