Complete Macalester vs. St. Mary's results
Macalester swam to nine first-place efforts to beat St. Mary's 133-81 in an MIAC dual meet against St. Mary's in Winona. The Scots improve to 3-1 in dual meets on the young season and are 2-1 in MIAC competitions.
Hillary Frey (So., Portland, Ore. / St. Mary's Academy),
Grace Fleming (So., Northampton, Mass.) and
Karoline Hart (So., Rexford, N.Y. / Niskayuna) each swam to a pair of first-place finishes to lead the way for the Scots. Frey won the 400-yard individual medley (5:00.53) and 500 freestyle (5:42.91). Fleming took the 1,650-yard freestyle (19:10.28) and 100 butterfly (1:09.54). Hart placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:03.63) and 100 free (56.82).
Anna Gajewski (Sr., Wausau, Wis. / East) was first in the 50 freestyle (26.29) and
Clare Pillsbury (So., Baraboo, Wis.) won the 100 backstroke (1:05.90). Macalester also won the 200-yard medley relay (2:06.58) behind the efforts of
Claire Eder (Jr., Evanston, Ill. / Evanston Township), Frey,
Hannah Fong (Fy., Altedena, Calif. / Westridge) and Gajewski.
The Scots host the Roger Ahlman Invitational on Saturday (Nov. 21) at the Riley Pool. Diving begins at 9 a.m. and swimming events start at 1 p.m. Participating teams are Macalester, Augsburg, Concordia-Moorhead, Hamline, St. Catherine, St. Mary's and St. Thomas.
