Complete Macalester vs. St. Thomas results
Macalester picked up six first-place finishes Friday night at Riley Pool, but St. Thomas had too much depth and went on to defeat the Scots 107-102 in an MIAC duel meet.
Annie Flanagan (Sr., Madison, Wis. / East) dove to first-place finishes on both boards, while Macalester received first-place swims from
Alex Cortes (So., Berkeley, Calif. / Head-Royce),
Clare Pillsbury (Fy., Baraboo, Wis.),
Grace Fleming (Fy., Northampton, Mass.) and
Hillary Frey (Fy., Portland, Ore. / St. Mary's Academy). The Scots compete tomorrow at the St. Catherine Invitational.
Flanagan's winnings scores were 251.35 on the 1-meter board and 259.60 on the 3-meter board. Cortes won the 50-yard freestyle (25.56), Pillsbury placed first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:26.62), Fleming took the top spot in the 200 free (2:00.88) and Frey won the 200 breaststroke (2:35.58). Pillsbury also was runner-up in the 500 free (5:29.52).
In addition to picking up a runner-up effort from Pillsbury in the 500 free, the Scots also received second-place finishes from
Karoline Hart (Fy., Rexford, N.Y. / Niskayuna) in the 100 freestyle (58.67) and
Emily Killpack (Sr., Madison, Wis. / Edgewood) in 3-meter diving (126.80).
