Complete Macalester vs. St. Olaf results
Annie Flanagan (Sr., Madison, Wis. / East) established school records to 1-meter and 3-meter diving to lead the way for the Scots Saturday in an MIAC dual meet with St. Olaf at Riley Pool. St. Olaf picked up 12 first-place finishes in 16 events to win the meet 188-105.
Flanagan started off her day by winning the 1-meter diving competition (267.45) and later established another Macalester mark by taking first in 3-meter diving (288.30). Both her scores are NCAA Division III national qualifying marks.
The Scots received first-place swimming performances from
Karoline Hart (Fy., Rexford, N.Y. / Niskayuna) and
Grace Fleming (Fy., Northampton, Mass.). Hart won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.86) and Fleming reached the wall first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:27.07).
Several Scots turned in second-place finishes: Fleming in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:17.62);
Clare Pillsbury (Fy., Baraboo, Wis.) in the 200 free (2:05.05) and 200 individual medley (2:22.11);
Claire Eder (Evanston, Ill. / Evanston Township) in the 100 backstroke (1:06.54);
Alex Cortes (Sr., Berkeley, Calif. / Head-Royce) in the 50 free (26.25);
Rachel McLaughlin in 1-meter diving (133.90); and
Kiersten Yeazel (So., Shorewood, Wis.) in the 100 butterfly (1:05.43);
The Scots compete this weekend (Jan. 16-17) at the Grinnell (Ia.) Invitational.
