Rose Betzler (Jr., Northfield, Minn.) scored the game's only goal in the 70th minute as the Scots handed Bethel its first setback of the season in Arden Hills. The Scots move up to 3-2 on the season and even their MIAC mark at 1-1, while the Royals drop to 6-1-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the league.

Betzler, who also scored in Mac's last-minute MIAC loss last week at Carleton, ties for the team lead with three goals on the campaign. Teammate
Emily Bardwell (So., Denver, Colo. / East) also had a standout game up front, getting off nine shots and five shots on goal, only to be stopped by the BU goalkeeper on five occasions. She was the only Scot credited with more than one shot.
Macalester goalkeeper
Jenny Lee (Sr., Circle Pines, Minn. / Centennial) registered five saves after turning away seven in her other MIAC start against Carleton. This was her 17th career shutout at Mac.
The Scots out-shot Bethel 15-5, but the Royals earned a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks. Macalester enjoyed a 10-4 lead in shots-on-goal in this goalkeeper-dominated contest.
Next up for the Scots is another MIAC match Saturday (Sept. 20) at home against St. Olaf at 7:30 p.m.
