Concordia handed Macalester a pair of narrow defeats in Moorhead, beating the Scots 6-4 and 3-2, scoring the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh in the nightcap to complete the sweep. The Scots have suffered a string of close heart-breaking defeats of late, and five of their last 10 MIAC losses have been by just a single run.

Macalester drops to 7-19 overall and 2-12 in the MIAC, while Concordia goes to 7-21 on the season, 4-10 in the league.

In the first contest, Macalester was on top 3-1 before the Cobbers rallied with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the lead for good. Mac's Katie Grudnowski (Sr., Minnetonka, Minn. / Blake School) went 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI, while Ali Nystrom (So., Minnetonka, Minn.) drove in a pair of runs and scored another.

Crystal Barriga (So., Broomfield, Colo. / Legacy) put the Scots up 2-1 in the fifth inning of the nightcap with her third home run of the season. Concordia went back up 3-2 with a pair of its own in the bottom of the fifth, but Macalester deadlocked the score at 3-3 when Hayley Reeves (Fy., Oberlin, Ohio) doubled and came around to score on a fielder's choice.

The Cobbers came up with back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the seventh to escape with the sweep.

The Scots host a pair of MIAC twinbills at Dunning Softball Complex, Monday (April 21) with Bethel at 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday (March 23) with St. Mary's at 4 p.m.
