Riley Miller is in his first season with the Macalester men’s basketball team. The Eden Prairie, MN native joins the Scots after his first season playing professionally with the Noarlunga City Southern Tigers in Australia. 

"Riley had an awesome career at St. Thomas and his coaching future is extremely bright," head coach Abe Woldeslassie ‘08 said. "Our student-athletes will benefit tremendously from working with Riley and we are glad that he's at Macalester." 

Miller graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2022 with a degree in business marketing and had the unique opportunity to compete at both the Division III and Division I levels. He is first all-time in games played in program history, second all time in three-point field goals made, and was named captain for his final three seasons in St. Paul. 

At the Division III level, he was named an All-American, West Region Player of the Year, All-MIAC, and helped the Tommies to two sweet 16 appearances. At the Division 1 level, Miller was top 15 in three point field goals made during his final two seasons in college. In 2022, he was the only player in Division I to shoot higher than 40% from three on more than 8.5 attempts per game. Miller was also named the 2021-22 Male Athlete of the Year at St. Thomas. 

Since November 2023, Miller has served as the Associate Head Coach of the Tonga National Team.
