Why did you choose Macalester?
I chose to attend Macalester because I wanted a smaller, liberal arts school that would give me a well-rounded education. I was also looking for a school whose student body was very diverse and Macalester certainly provided that with their international focus. I love Minnesota and with the chance to play volleyball, Macalester seemed like the perfect fit for me.

What other activities are you involved in at Macalester and in the community?
I am involved with Macalester’s Habitat for Humanity chapter as well as plan on joining Scoil Rince Mac, Macalester’s Irish Dance group on campus. I furthermore tutor at Ramsey Middle School through the Believe*Achieve program and am interning at Children’s Dental Services in Minneapolis this fall.

Do you have any unique talents, did you have a interesting internship this summer, have you invented something interesting?
This summer I interned at a pediatric dental office in Denver, Colorado. It was a fantastic opportunity as, by the end of the internship, I was able to gain real, in-the-chair experiences with cleaning and assisting in dental operations. I have always been passionate about pursuing a career as a dentist and this opportunity certainly sparked my interest to the next level.
